Amani Sloley

Amani Sloley, a recent Lakehead University graduate with a degree in music, has been actively engaged in music leadership throughout their academic career. As Co-President of the Lakehead University Music Association (LUMA) during the last two years of their bachelor's degree, Amani demonstrated strong organizational skills and a passion for fostering a vibrant musical community. Additionally, they contributed their insights and dedication as a member of the Board of Directors for Consortium Aurora Borealis, enhancing their experience in arts administration and community outreach. Amani, a queer violist of colour, is dedicated to advocating for diversity and inclusion in music. This summer, their upcoming studies in Italy will focus on advancing their viola performance and composition skills, reflecting their commitment to personal and artistic growth. They are eager to bring their experiences and enthusiasm to the Canadian Viola Society, advocating for and supporting violists across Canada.
